On September 28th 2024 Jazz and music lovers gathered at noon to dedicate the corner of Massachusetts  Avenue and Columbus Avenue “Jazz Square” to recognize this is as the epicenter of Jazz in Boston.  At this ceremony we recognized Elynor Walcott, daughter of Wally, with the first Jazz Luminary Award which was presented by three-time Grammy Award winning drummer Terri Lynne Carrington.  Additionally, we heard from our elected officials about the importance of music, art and history. Our elected speaking included state Senator Miranda, State Rep. Moran, City Councilor Tania Fernandes Anderson, City Council President Ruthzee Louijene. Also speaking was Bonnie Johnson from WICN’s Colors of Jazz host.
